I am now wearing a physical piece of the Armor of God. ^^
I got my Patriarchal Blessing a week ago, Tuesday, and there were parts of it that were so beautiful and inspiring that I cried. I can't wait until I get the written copy. ^^
And last Saturday, I had another extremely spiritual experience. I went to the Temple and got my Endowments. I'm still not entirely sure what that means (I was kind of overwhelmed at the time), but as I continue to go to the temple for other people, I should come to understand it better.
I definitely want to go back again soon, and often. Just as I look forward to reading my blessing again and again. Those were two incomparable experiences, and I want to keep them with me. I want to remember what was said and how I felt. They were once-in-a-lifetime things, and I want them to last a lifetime. =)

Attention "Card Carrying" Mormons
Andrew has an appointment to go to the temple to receive his own endowment (A special spiritual blessing given to worthy and faithful members of the Church in the temple) on Saturday, March 28 – 8 pm session. If you are in the Sacramento area and would like to join us, make your appointment for that session. If you do not live near by but would like to join us in spirit, maybe you could attend “your” temple at the same time.

Information Regarding Mail to Canada
I got a letter from the mission office which I lack the technological ability to mechanically copy here, so I am doing it the old fashioned way of looking at it and typing. Please forgive any mistakes I make and fail to catch!
Please send all mail to:
Missionary's name (both first and last - we often have 2 or 3 missionaries with the same name)

MAIL SERVICE IN CANADA IS VERY SLOW. It may take 10-14 days to arrive here - or longer depending on the source country. We ask you to send mail to the Mission Office rather than the missionary's apartment (missionaries have transfers every 6 weeks, and if they have moved on it may take weeks for the mail to be returned to us/them). When we receive mail at the office it will be dispatched to the missionaries at interviews or monthly conferences, or if staff are traveling to their areas. Please do not send any perishable items.
PACKAGES - GENERAL INFORMATION
It is important to remember that some parcel services charge a duty (tax) to bring packages to Canada so it is best to send mail by regular postal services. Some postal services also charge a tax on items over a certain value. Please check with your local postal service for details of any postal restrictions. Packages should be marked "Missionary supplies">
Sending clothes
In general our missionaries can purchase clothes here and in view of the high tax on clothing sent into the country it may be advisable to put money in their accounts instead - see paragraph entitled "Sending money". It is also advisable for them to buy winter clothing here as it is better designed to cope with our low temperatures. However, please do waht you feel is best in the circumstances.
Sending electronic equipment
We are very concerned about the electronic equipment our missionaries are bringing into the field, and strongly discourage this practice. Oftentimes the prevailing technology hinders the Holy Spirit and the missionary work.
Sending religious materials/music
Sometimes parents and relatives have an interest in sending religious books, tapes etc - we discourage religious materials other than those outlined in "Preach My Gospel" as in included in the missionary library. Music sent should be only by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, "Especially For Youth" or classical music prior to 1900.
Sending money
The Missionary Department has determined an allotment of money that should be adequate for a missionary in the mission field. This allotment is deposited in a missionary account each month for their use. If you desire to send extra money (or friends/family wish to support your missionary), it is better that you put that money in an account they can access with a debit/visa card rather than send checks - there is no way they can cash checks in Canada (a foreign country!).
Christmas packages
Packages for Christmas should be sent to ARRIVE at the Mission Office by END-NOVEMBER AT THE LATEST to ensure that we receive them in time to distribute them to missionaries at the Christmas Zone Conferences (held in the middle of December). Please send early. This will avoid having some missionaries having no Christmas package (which occasionally happens) We will send you further details nearer the time.

Slowly getting ready
Since last check in -
Andrew's passport has arrived. I had never seen one before. They are cool! Look so impressive, but smaller than I expected. (?) Lots of pages for stamps or endorsements or something. With cool quotes on every page.
We have bought sheets. Looked at luggage (don't really know what we are looking at). Got his garments and temple things.
He needs his white pants (and his suits) hemmed. A sister in the ward - a professional seamstress, works for Music Circus - says she would be delighted to do them. Catching her seems to be the problem.
Once we get his pants hemmed, or at least scheduled, he will call the temple for an appointment to get his own endowment.

A picture is worth...
Brother Eccles who served in the Canada Winnipeg Mission a few years ago brought his photo album to share with Andrew after church.
Joseph and I sat in. After a bit, Benjamin and Brother Swenson who had been doing some planning for a YM fireside/activity, joined us. Brother Swenson served a mission in Taiwan. The 2 return missionaries testified what a wonderful, special, unique time in their lives their missions had been.
Andrew loved the pictures and thought many of them beautiful. The stories and comments from Brother Eccles added to their interest and appeal.
Andrew is excited! "I want to go to Canada!" he exclaimed when we got home. "I think we'll let you," I replied.
